Lucifer season 5, part 2: Lesley Ann Brandt on the hidden meaning of Maze and Eve’s vows

Happy Friday Eve #HappyFridayEve

Lucifer fans were rejoicing on Friday night when the show finally saw Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) realise the risk of losing someone is worth the joy of having them. Fan favourite Maze finally decided to give love a shot and reunited with Eve (Inbar Lavi). However, actress Lesley Ann Brandt has since revealed the words said in the emotional scene between Maze and Eve have a deeper meaning.

Lucifer’s Season five, Part two saw the return of Eve and in the latest episode she shared an emotional scene with Maze.

While tracking down the bounty on a man named Clive, Maze fights a masked burglar, who soon turns out to be Eve.

Eve quickly explains she realised bounty hunting with Maze was when she was at her happiest and as a result, she had become a bounty hunter.

“For you, it was another day at the office. for me, it was different and challenging and scary, in a good way,” Eve said.

Maze agrees to let Eve hunt with her and later that day during a stakeout, Eve confesses why she really came back to L.A.

The reason for her return was that she wanted to be with Maze again and restart their romantic relationship.

Eve told Maze: “After I became a bounty hunter, I realised my happiness had nothing to do with the job. I was happy because I was with you.”

“I had no idea how to get you back. So I looked you up. I saw you were on this Clive bounty and came up with this wacky plan.

“I engineered an encounter. I thought maybe it would be romantic. But then when you took my mask off, you didn’t exactly jump into my arms.

“You looked real mad, like, real mad. So I panicked and I lied. I’m sorry,” Eve explained.

Luckily the pair managed to get a happy ending as Maze decided to give love a shot.

She made a promise to love Eve: “Till the years are showing on your face, and my strongest years are gone.”

Fans soon took to Twitter to share their excitement at Eve and Maze finally rekindling their relationship.

Lesley-Ann Brandt, who plays Maze on the show, joined in the conversation and revealed to fans there was a special meaning behind the words in the scene.

“These were some of my own vows I made to my husband. @LuciferNetflix” the actress revealed.
