Lucas Digne has hinted that his Everton return is on the horizon after his Euro 2020 involvement with France over the course of the summer.
The majority of the Blues squad returned to Finch Farm two weeks ago to begin work with their new manager Rafa Benitez in preparation for the 2021/22 campaign getting underway.
However, those who were involvement in international tournaments over the course of the last few weeks are still on their respective holidays and will be making a staggered return to the training complex.
One of those is Digne, who played a role during France’s Euro 2020 campaign this summer as they were surprisingly knocked out by Switzerland in the round of 16.
The left-back missed that match after picking up an injury in the previous group game against Portugal, an issue which was initially feared could end his tournament.
But in later days, there was the hope that the defender could have played some part in the latter stages of the competition if France had reached them.
Now, it seems that Digne is almost raring to go for Everton.
Taking to Instagram, the 28-year-old posted a picture while on holiday along with the caption: “Last few days.”
The Blues will soon fly out to the USA to take part in the Florida Cup, with their first match of the pre-season tournament taking place in the early hours of Monday morning (UK time) against Millonarios.
Benitez’s squad are then scheduled to play either Arsenal or Inter Milan in the final of the competition on Wednesday night.
The France international’s Instagram post suggests that he might play some involvement in the tournament to begin his preparations ahead of an important 2021/22 campaign under a new manager.
