Love Island’s Lana blasted over ‘wingwoman’ comment as she dumps Casey

Love Island star Lana Jenkins has faced the ire of fans on social media, after she brutally dubbed herself a ‘wingwoman’ as she dumped Casey O’Gorman.
During Tuesday night’s episode, Lana and Casey went aside for a heart to heart, when Lana admitted she would rather pursue a romance with Ron Hall.
Accepting this amicably, Casey wished her well and thanked her for her honesty, however, at the very end of their conversation Lana told Casey she would “always be there for him” and that she was a “very good wingwoman”.
Laughing awkwardly at the words, Casey was clearly wounded as it was the ultimate friend-zoning situation, with the star even confessing he had felt like a “mug” for filling the time before Lana went back to Ron.

Fans at home were also far from impressed as they hit back at Lana for her tone deaf comment and for failing to read the room after clearly breaking Casey’s heart.
“I can be a really good wing woman is such a stupid thing to say to someone after you’ve dumped them” one fan said on social media.
Another agreed, adding: “Lana saying to Casey that she wants to be with Ron and then says about her being a wing woman to him not surprised casey walked off.”

A third also echoed similar sentiments as they added; ”Lana saying she’d be a good wing woman….. what a b***h thing to say in that moment.”
Plenty more comments followed with several unable to comprehend the makeup artist’s comment.
“Not dumping him then saying she’ll be his wing woman Lana bffr,” quipped one fan.
A second agreed, adding: “Omg Lana was so rude with that wing woman comment… like read the room.”

While a third didn’t hold back as they added: “Wing woman this girl has no respect.”
The latest development came after weeks of flirtation between Lana and Ron, despite his mistreatment of the girl he purported to fancy.
After having confessed he liked her and deemed her his “number one priority”, Ron continued to pursue other girls, which caused their relationship to crumble in the first place.
Yet Lana has decided to give Ron and their romance another chance, with the pair kissing, surprising the rest of the villa.
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
