Love Island’s latest dumpee has a convincing theory about why Hugo Hammond gave *that* speech about Chloe Burrows during last night’s [22 July] episode.

Well, Love Island is getting more dramatic by the day, isn’t it? After Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank shared a kiss and Toby Aromolaran recoupled with Abigail Rawlings, Hugo chose to save Chloe over bombshell Georgia Townend.

In his recoupling speech, Hugo said, “I would like to couple up with this girl because not only is she out-of-this-world ‘bootiful’, she’s super intelligent, she’s funny. If I’m completely honest, she doesn’t deserve to be treated how she has been these past 24 hours, and I firmly believe that a lot of this ‘test’ stuff is complete bullshit.

“You deserve someone who’s honest and communicates with you, so the girl I would like to couple up with is Chloe.”

Georgia was then dumped from the Island, despite viewers hoping Hugo was going to give her a chance.

Now, in her exit interview, Georgia has revealed a convincing theory that Hugo actually has a thing for Chloe behind the scenes. “I think we would have been a good match; he was really eloquent, polite,” she explained about Hugo.

“I’m not sure why there wasn’t a spark. I think he holds a candle for Lucinda and Chloe… I think perhaps unless he’s honest with himself and really goes for that, he’s not going to even explore other options and he just wants to protect his friends and make sure they’re ok, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just obviously in this instance it’s at my expense.

“Maybe he doesn’t really know what he’s looking for.”

That might make sense – after Hugo friend-zoned Sharon, he failed to give AJ or Georgia a chance, which might be because he’s set on someone else?
