Love Island 2021: Fans rejoice as Hugo bags a kiss with newcomer AJ as they couple up

Fans rejoiced as Love Island’s unlucky-in-love Hugo bagged a kiss with newcomer AJ after they coupled up around the fire pit on Sunday’s episode. 

After AJ picked PE teacher Hugo, 24, leading to Sharon being dumped from the villa, the pair shared an intimate kiss during a sexy cat and mouse challenge.

Bombshell AJ, 28, wearing cat ears and painted whiskers on her cheeks, pounced on the former cricketer from Hampshire during the game.

But it appeared the PE teacher, 24, was still having his doubts later as he admitted there was something he ‘couldn’t put his finger on’ about his new partner. 

It came after earlier in the episode AJ picked Hugo to couple up with, much to his surprise and sending his previous friendship couple partner Sharon packing her bags.

Fans of the show were quick to take to social media to share their delight for Hugo’s kiss and recoupling.

Despite Hugo’s latest success in the villa, Sharon, 25, was left in tears as she became the latest contestant to be dumped from the villa.

The Oxford beauty predicted she would be going home after newcomer Danny chose to couple up with Lucinda despite having been on a date with her.

After he chose the blonde, Sharon turned to her close pal Faye and said: ‘I’m definitely going home now’.

‘Don’t be stupid,’ Sharon said as the rest of the group came to hug her.

Sharon teared up as she said her goodbyes to Faye and Kaz, saying: ‘Don’t set me off, don’t set me off. I love you guys so much OK?’

Speaking in the beach hut, Faye said: ‘I’m going to miss everything about Sharon, she was my backbone, she was the one I went to for everything.’

Kaz added: ‘I just can’t believe Shaz and Kaz have been separated. I’m heartbroken because she was genuinely looking to meet someone new.’ 

Speaking after the dumping, Sharon insisted she wasn’t going to give up on her search for love.

She said: ‘We all took a plunge when we came here. Love was never guaranteed and it never will be but I’m glad I took the plunge.
