Love Island 2021: Fans fume as Hugo brands himself a ‘player with options’ during chat about Georgia

Love Island viewers began to turn on Hugo Hammond during Wednesday’s episode as he branded himself a ‘player with options’ during a chat with the lads about new girl Georgia Townend.

In the episode, the blonde beauty beauty made it clear how much she liked Hugo with the teacher taken aback with her forwardness, before telling his pals that he also wants to get to know Abigail too.

But fans at home have now questioned Hugo’s motives and accused him of being on the show for a ‘free holiday’, with many even asking why he’s in the villa.

During his three-week stint on the show, Hugo has struggled to find connections with the other girls, while in the space of a week he friendzoned both Sharon and AJ, who were consequently dumped from the villa. 

With fans having consistently rooting for Hugo to find a girl, it appears their support has now grown thin as Hugo struggled to make his mind up about Georgia, who was very vocal with her feelings for the hunk. 

Amid a chat with the boys, Hugo gave his verdict on Georgia, telling his pals that he was ‘really looking forward to getting to know her’, but in the same sentence added that he wanted to ‘get to know Abi’ as well.

He then added: ‘I don’t want to sound like a player and have options but I’m a player and I’ve got options, do you know what I mean!’ 

Later, he sat down with Georgia by the pool, where he told her: ‘I don’t know how I feel about you yet’ before proceeding to ask her several questions. 

When she told him she liked cats, he responded: ‘Oh no!’, before Georgia quickly added that she was ‘actually into horses more’.

But this didn’t impress Hugo either as he moaned: ‘Oh no, really? My ex was horsey. Very horsey. It’s fine. I’m terrible with them.’

Watching all the scenes unfold, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Hugo, with many baffled as to what he wants from his villa experience. 

‘What is Hugo actually here for? He’s taking up space’ asked one viewer.

Something new? Later, he sat down with Georgia by the pool, where he told her: ‘I don’t know how I feel about you yet’ before proceeding to ask her several questions

While another shared: ‘Hugo is getting too bigs for his boots, how can he say “I’m sorry lads I’m a player and I’ve got options” is he mad?!’

‘Think Hugo is in there for a free holiday tbh’ accused a third watcher.

‘Can one of the producers remind Hugo that he is on a reality TV Show called Love Island please’ joked a fourth person.

With another adding: ‘Stop why does Hugo have to act like that like pls the perfect girl came in for him and manz is talking about options like what.’
