  • Why Louisville can cover

Junior running back Jawhar Jordan looks to take over as the Cardinals featured back for the entire season after taking over those duties midway through last season. Jordan rushed for a career-best 815 yards and four touchdowns, bettering his previous career high of 105 yards during the 2019 season. Once he took over the featured back duties in 2022, he wasted little time showing off his explosiveness. He totaled four 100-yard rushing games, each coming in the final five games. He rushed for 117 yards in a win over James Madison, 105 against North Carolina State, 145 at Kentucky and 115 against Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl.

On defense, the Cardinals return three players who started every game last season and three others who started at least four or more, for a unit that allowed just 19.2 points, the fewest since 2013. On the defensive line, Ashton Gillotte and Dezmond Tell combined to start 25 games last season. Gillotte recorded seven sacks, and made 23 stops, including 12 solo, with one pass breakup, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Tell had two sacks and one fumble recovery, while making 26 tackles, including 10 solo. See which team to pick here.

In two previous seasons with the Yellow Jackets, he has 28 receptions for 287 yards (10.3 average), including a long of 38 yards.
