Lorraine Kelly ‘replaced’ by Louise Minchin in shake-up as viewers issue same complaint
Lorraine #Lorraine
Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin filled in for Lorraine Kelly this morning in a presenter shake-up. Louise donned a pastel green suit with red glasses to host the Friday instalment of the long-running chat show.
The 55-year-old took the hot seat back in October to present Lorraine which is usually hosted by the Scottish broadcaster on weekdays at 9am. The reason Lorraine was absent from the latest programme was not shared with ITV viewers.
The latest shake-up was revealed by Kate Garraway and Rob Rinder on Friday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain about an hour before Lorraine aired.
Lorraine fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the latest shake-up and issue the same complaint.
One fan wrote: “Lorraine Kelly did not host her own show this morning, with Louise Minchin stepping in. #Lorraine has hosted 32 episodes out of 44 (72.7%) this year. Ranvir Singh has hosted 7, Christine Lampard has hosted 4 and Louise has hosted 1.”
Mark replied: “If they renamed this programme, what should it be called?” A third penned: “Louise Minchin (ex of BBC Breakfast) is presenting Lorraine! Have I woken in a parallel universe?”
Alice asked: “LOUISE MINCHIN?????? Where’d they pull her from?? has anyone checked on Ranvir?!”
Another viewer remarked: “In a disgusting twist of events, Louise Minchin is now presenting Lorraine’s show for her. They’re literally drafting in anyone off the street, it could be you next. So what has happened to the long-suffering Ranvir? #confused #lorraine.”
Another shared: “Lorraine Kelly did not host her own show this morning, with the unknown stepping in instead.”
Louise interviewed Roman Kemp about the upcoming Brit Awards as part of the programme as he is hosting the star-studded event.
When Louise last presented Lorraine, Kate said ahead of the live show: “‘Louise Minchin is in for Lorraine at nine. Hello, how lovely to see you on this side of the pond!”
Louise replied: “Thank you so much, it’s lovely to be here. Good morning to everyone!”
There was no explanation of where Lorraine was in October, and she is often covered by Loose Women’s Christine Lampard or Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh when she’s off.
Lorraine airs on weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITVX.
