Lord Alan Sugar hammered for remark on Women’s Euros – and is proven immediately wrong

Lord Alan Sugar made himself look as thick as one of his Apprentice contestants with a braindead remark about the Women’s Euros.
Before Sweden’s game against Netherlands on BBC, the 75-year-old took to Twitter to complain about what he perceived as a lack of male commentators covering the tournament. “I am watching the women football and notice that ALL the comentators are women,” he moaned.
“I also note when mens football is on there is a symobilic female comentator to cover the broadcasters arse. Should I complain there should me a male commentator in women’s football,” he concluded.
The answer is of course no, not least because 15 minutes later Sugar was made to look as stupid as one of Boris Johnson’s cabinet members as the dulcet tones of Jonathan Pearce (who is male, by the way) rang out over the broadcast.

Social media users hammered Sugar for his idiotic comment and then laid into him even more once they heard Pearce’s voice during the Sweden vs Netherlands match.
“We have plenty of men working on this tournament Lord Sugar, don’t fret you’re not being eradicated,” came the savage reply from BBC host Gabby Logan.

Jonathan Pearce was the lead commentator for Sweden vs Netherlands at Bramall Lane
Someone else asked: “Did a 5 year old write this?” As a third user said: “How this dinosaur ever became a billionaire will always baffle me.” While another person chimed in with: “This lad’s off his f***ing nut.”
Others chose to note Pearce’s presence in the commentary box for the match at Bramall Lane. One wrote: “I don’t think anyone has mistaken Jonathan Pierce for a woman before but well done S’alan Sugar.”
As another said: “Jonathan Pearce is commentating on Holland v Sweden right now. He is not a woman. Try again.” A further comment read: “Jonathan Pearce commentates so you can’t be paying much attention.”
Someone else pointed that former Chelsea star Pat Nevin is also covering the Women’s Euros for BBC Radio 5 Live, saying: “Jonathan Pearce is on BBC1 and Pat Nevin is on Radio 5, so not sure where you’re watching /listening?”
When asked by one user whether a five-year-old wrote his tweet, Sugar replied: “No a 75 year old who is fed up with all this politically correct crap.” He also told someone else to “f off” and slammed “trolls” who corrected his spelling of the word “symbolic.”
Wonder if he’s ever thought that sometimes it might just be easier not to tweet?
