Sam Amick and Josh Robbins of The Athletic recently spoke to 108 NBA players to see who they believe is the greatest of all time. Five players received a vote for that title.

Unsurprisingly, Michael Jordan and LeBron James received the most votes. Kobe Bryant and Bill Russell were also mentioned in this anonymous poll.

The fifth and final player to receive a “GOAT vote” was Tracy McGrady. And no, we’re not kidding.

As you’d expect, most basketball fans were shocked to see McGrady get recognition over Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Larry Bird.

“I want to know who was trolling when they voted for T-Mac,” one fan said.

“Whoever voted TMac knows ball,” a second fan tweeted.

“Calling TMac the goat is so insanely random what,” another fan wrote.

McGrady had a Hall of Fame career, averaging 19.6 points per game and earning All-Star honors seven times.

Unfortunately for McGrady, injuries prevented him from staying on the court during his prime years.

McGrady probably shouldn’t be in the conversation for greatest of all time, but he had an incredible career and deserves some praise.
