London Fashion Week 2023: what to expect

London Fashion Week might not officially start until Friday, but try telling that to the capital’s most stylish.

At Tate Modern on Wednesday night Harris Reed, 27, kicked off proceedings two days before the British Fashion Council’s scheduled opening. He did so with a glamour-oozing catwalk show inspired by old Hollywood.

What a fitting theme for the young British-American designer. His clothes not only supply drama — hoop skirts and high-maintenance headwear pieces are a given on his runways — but are often worn by starlets with hourglass figures to rival Marilyn Monroe.

Adele has modelled custom Reed in her music videos. Beyoncé as well — on the cover of Vogue. The presentation last night, though, was opened by Ashley Graham, the plus-size American supermodel.
