Lockdown lifted at West Edmonton Mall after shooting injures 3

As the case unfolded, police told citizens to stay away from the area. The Edmonton Transit centre outside the mall was also shut down before reopening just before 10 p.m.

WEM, one of North America’s largest shopping centres with 800 stores and about 30 million visitors a year, reports on its website that it conducts lockdown drills four times a year in preparation for any emergencies.
