The lockdown order at a secondary school in Flemingdon Park has been lifted, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) tweeted Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the afternoon police said Marc Garneau Collegiate was under a lockdown order after a gun was reportedly seen. Officers arrived at the school near Don Mills Road and Overlea Boulevard shortly after 12:20 p.m.

Police said that nearby Valley Park Middle School had also been placed under a hold-and-secure as a precaution, but that was also lifted later in the afternoon, TDSB said.

No injuries have been reported.

Police confirmed a student was taken in custody by officers on scene. No further information was provided.

On Monday, Marc Garneau Collegiate and two other east-end schools were placed under hold and secure while police investigated a daylight shooting in Flemingdon Park.

An 18-year-old man was injured with two gunshot wounds on his leg. No students or staff members were injured, and the order was lifted shortly after.

“The global topic of youth violence is being discussed at the board continuously,” Shari Schwartz-Maltz, spokesperson for the TDSB, told the Star in response to the incident, “youth violence is a problem for the entire community. So there’s nothing more important for us to work with police, the city, i.e. SafeTO, community organizations and community partners.”
