Lizzo was so thrilled when pal Harry Styles won Album of the Year at last night’s Grammys that she seemed to have forgotten she was in the same category.

The singer, 34, showed that despite Styles beating her for the gong, she was thrilled for him as she jumped up, filming the moment he put his face in his hands in shock after being announced as winner.

Styles, 29, won the award for his album Harry’s House, beating ten of pop’s biggest names including ABBA, Adele, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé and Lizzo for her album Special.

Lizzo did not go home empty handed, however, as she earned the coveted Record Of The Year award for her hit song, About Damn Time.

During that announcement, Styles showed his support by giving her a warm hug.

Viewers loved the pair’s adoration for each other and took to Twitter to share their appreciation of the moment.

One commented: “I love their friendship so much.”

Another wrote: “Lizzo was like a proud mum when Harry won. Someone tell her the moment of his winning was captured on TV so no need for her phone lol.”

While a third said: “Lizzo got beat by Harry at Grammys and she’s still smiling and excited. She’s a true star.”

Later, Lizzo took to Twitter to share a slew of snaps of her with the former One Direction star, writing: “Moments before Album of the Year…”

It was a great night for Styles who beat the likes of Adele, Coldplay and Lizzo again for the first award of the night for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Another standout of the night was Beyonce, who made history as she broke the record for the most Grammy wins with 32 awards.

The star had been nominated for nine awards and walked away with Best R&B Song, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best Dance/Electronic Music Album and Best Dance/Electronic Recording.

Despite the triumphs, she was unable to secure a win for the Album Of The Year category, losing out on the biggest prize of the night to Styles.
