Liz Truss outlines Conservative leadership pledges
Tory leadership frontrunner Liz Truss has agreed to be interviewed by BBC’s Nick Robinson.
She will be sitting down for a one-to-one talk on August 30 at 7pm on BBC One.
Her rival in the race for Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, previously chatted with Nick last week.
Veteran journalist Nick, who is also a presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, tweeted on Wednesday: “I interviewed @RishiSunak on BBC One a week ago for ‘Our next Prime Minister – the interviews.’
“As I said on the programme we also want to do an in depth interview Liz Truss. We are still hopeful she will find the time”.

It comes after Conservative MP Rishi was interviewed on This Morning by Andi Peters and Rochelle Humes on Thursday morning.
The former Chancellor of the Exchequer is in the running to be the next prime minister of the UK following Boris Johnson standing down in July.
He appeared on the show to discuss his hopes for becoming the party leader, and the prime minister.
But the interview technique of the hosts didn’t impress fans, as amongst discussing current issues including the cost of living crisis, and rising inflation, the pair asked Rishi whether he enjoyed fish and chips.
After he was pictured in McDonald’s this week, the pair went on to ask him what his favourite meal was in the fast food franchise.

As the interview went on, fans shared their thoughts on Twitter – while others reacted to Rishi fangirling over presenter Andy.
One disgruntled viewer said: “Rochelle and Andy were the completely wrong presenters to be interviewing Rishi Sunak.”
Another agreed: “This is cringe!!!” while a third wrote: “Rochelle and Andi interviewing Rishi Sunak is like Peppa Pig interviewing Albert Einstein.”

A fourth fan said: “Rishi we don’t care how much you love Andi what are you gunna do about this s**t show of a country.”
Meanwhile, a survey run on the ConservativeHome website suggested his rival Liz would be the next prime minister.
The poll showed the Foreign Secretary is ahead of Rishi by 32 points.
