Liverpool’s Conor Bradley hungry for more Wembley glory after success with Bolton Wanderers

The Tyrone wonderkid, who won the EFL Trophy while on loan at League One Bolton last season, had to be patient after picking up a hamstring injury in pre-season, but he’s now making up for lost time.
The 20-year-old started the last three games for the Reds — both legs of their Carabao Cup Semi-Final success against Fulham — and a thumping 4-0 win at Bournemouth in the League.
Now he’s in line to face Championship side Norwich in Sunday’s FA Cup fourth round clash at Anfield.
“I got to Wembley with Bolton last season when they won the EFL Trophy so it would be great to be there again and win the Carabao Cup with Liverpool.
“Obviously, there is a massive difference between the standard of players in League One and the Premier League but, at the same time, I needed games at that stage of my career.
“I played 50-odd games, which was brilliant for me, and I wanted to take that momentum into being back there.
“Last season was massive for me and I just wanted to bring that form I was into this season and play as much football as I can for Liverpool so it’s great to have been able to start the last few games.”
Bradley has rightly earned plenty of plaudits for filling the void left by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s continued absence with a knee problem.
He has been so assured that Jurgen Klopp has a decision to make on whether to persist with Bradley at right-back and move Alexander-Arnold into a central midfield role.
Bradley told club media: “Trent is probably the best right-back in the world at the minute — if not the best player in the world with the way he has been playing. So he is a big miss for us and I just tried to do everything I could to fill in for him. Obviously. I’m not Trent so I’m just going to play my game and contribute what I can.”
With Liverpool still involved in four competitions, Bradley can look forward to a big contribution in Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield swansong.
That included an impressive cameo off the bench against Arsenal in the last round win at the Emirates — where he was thrown in at the deep end up against Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli.
He added: “Martinelli is a top player. As soon as I came on, Trent told me to force him inside and he’d be there to cover me. So any time he tried to take me on, I just tried to do that.
“Overall, I think I did alright against him, so I was happy.
“Now I’m really looking forward to playing against Norwich in front of our own supporters and hopefully we perform well again and get another win.”
