Liverpool may have James Maddison transfer chance and star has hinted he’d accept move

Maddison also comes from a family of Liverpool supporters, although he previously joked with Jamie Carragher that he wasn’t a Reds fan himself. The pair were going head-to-head on Sky’s Big Quiz show back in 2020 when Carragher exclaimed: “He’s [Maddison] a Liverpool fan!”

Maddison laughed as he replied: “No I’m not!” Martin Tyler, the show’s host, then interjected: “You’re from a family of Liverpool fans, is that right?” The Leicester star then confirmed his mother as a “big Liverpool fan”.

Family allegiances are never a sign of where a player may end up joining, but it’s clear there is at least some affection from Maddison about Liverpool. The feeling is surely mutual on Merseyside and a possible transfer wouldn’t be out of the equation next year.
