They tussled for the ball and then Jones tried to swipe it past the defender, only for White to push him to the ground for a free-kick.
Jones was therefore unable to get past his man but this didn’t stop Liverpool fans from hyping up their man for his attempted skill.
Taking to X, one said: “Curtis Jones absolutely destroying Ben White there.”
“Jones rattled White,” a second simply said along with a skull emoji.
A third added: “Jones had White on strings here. Not a yellow?”
“Curtis Jones with a bit of magic and Ben White couldn’t take it,” said a fourth.
Arsenal and Liverpool had their own great chances to take the lead but the score remained 0-0 at half-time.
The hosts looked the better side at the start before the visitors grew into what proved to be a close-fought battle.

It was much of the same story in the second half but Liverpool’s perseverance paid off as they took a late lead.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross from the corner was swung in and went into the back of the net off the head of Jakub Kiwior.
