Liverpool fans predict a revenge mission for Mohamed Salah as Champions League draw pits him face-to-face with Real Madrid rival Sergio Ramos again… three years after he was …

Liverpool #Liverpool

Fans were sent into a frenzy on Friday after Liverpool were drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, setting up the long-awaited rematch between Mohamed Salah and Sergio Ramos.

The tasty last-eight clash comes less than three years after the two sides met in the competition’s final in 2018, which saw Zinedine Zidane’s men come out on top after a hugely eventful match in Kyiv.

One of the biggest moments in that final came just shortly before the half-hour mark after Ramos injured Salah by tugging on his arm before the pair collapsed to the ground while contesting for the ball.

It was a pivotal moment in the final, with star man Salah leaving the field in tears with a shoulder injury that required surgery while handing Real the advantage in the tie.

Ramos would further anger Liverpool fans not long after following a clash at a corner with Loris Karius, who was later diagnosed with a concussion.

That concussion saw the German make two costly errors as Real went on to win a historic third Champions League crown in a row and their 13th in total.

A large majority of Liverpool fans have never forgiven the Real skipper for his dirty antics in the final and claim the foul on Salah was calculated.

And it wasn’t just Liverpool fans that were left fuming by Ramos’ takedown.

Liverpool starlet Harvey Elliott revealed last year that he refused to meet the Spanish defender out of loyalty to Salah.

When asked about the story, Elliott told The Athletic: ‘Yeah, that’s true. I turned it down because of what he did to Mo.’

Now it appears the Egyptian forward may exact some revenge after Friday’s draw put the two rivals together once again – but this time, it will be over two legs.

Liverpool fans were delighted with the draw, claiming that the goalscoring winger would finally get some revenge for that 2018 final defeat.

Following the announcement, fans took to Twitter to revel at the match-up while insisting that Salah would get his own back.

One fan tweeted, ‘Mo Salah’s chance at redemption against Ramos’ while another added, ‘Salah is coming for you mate’.

Another Liverpool fan wrote: ‘Let’s hope Salah gets his revenge on Ramos and scores a couple of beauties’.

Others posted memes on the rivalry, with one Twitter user posting a picture of a strait jacket, referencing that Salah will give Ramos no opportunity to grab his arms again.

Rival fans took the opposite approach, with one tweeting that Ramos was eyeing up Salah’s other shoulder.

Friday’s draw means Real Madrid will play at home for the first leg on April 6 or 7 while the second leg will take place at Anfield on April 13 or 14.

A aggregate win will set up a semi-final encounter against the winners of Porto vs Chelsea.
