Alisson will miss Liverpool’s clash with Brentford on Saturday after suffering a hamstring injury in training.

The Brazilian keeper pulled up during their final session before travelling to London for the Premier League game. Alisson missed last weekend’s win over Burnley after being hit with a flu bug the day before.

Now he’s out for today’s clash and will need to be assessed to determinant he extent of the hamstring injury. Caoimhin Kelleher will deputise in goal like he did in the 3-1 victory over the Clarets last weekend.

The Irish keeper is Klopp’s trusted No.2 and starts regularly in Carabao Cup games for the Reds. But the loss of Alisson will be seen as a big blow as the Reds look to keep their title hopes on course.

Mo Salah is set to return for the first time since New Year’s Day after suffering a hamstring injury during the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt. But Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago Alcantara remain out.

Ibrahima Konate is back after suspension while Joe Gomez has shaken off the flu he was hit with last weekend. Conor Bradley is available again after returning from compassionate leave following the death of his father.

Liverpool head into the trip to Brentford two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table. Speaking ahead of the game, Klopp admitted his side have to be at their best to win the game and continue their push for a second title in four years.

“It’s super, super-tricky, super-tricky there,” Klopp said. “The way they play, the way they set it up with or without [Ivan] Toney makes a difference, [having] all the guys back from the Africa Cup of Nations makes a difference.”
