Antetokounmpo came onto the stage with his right wrist and hand wrapped and told TNT host Ernie Johnson that “Whatever I have, I’m going to give. That’s who I am. That’s never going to change.”

The league changed up the format of team selections for this year, with captains Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James picking their teams on the court prior to the game. They will begin with the reserves — which were selected for the showcase by the league’s assistant coaches.
Antetokounmpo brought a notebook onto the stage to make his picks, saying “I put a lot of thought behind it.”
He then selected Portland guard Damian Lillard No. 1 overall, shocking James.
Antetokounmpo then followed it up by picking Holiday. Antetokounmpo got the crowd roaring when he tried to sneak starter Ja Morant onto his team — but starters were not being selected at that point — and Antetokounmpo sheepishly took Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
