The new alerts come after the Australian Medical Association called on the NSW government to take a tougher approach to lockdown as Covid infections in Sydney continue to climb.

AMA president Omar Khorshid wants non-essential retail stores closed and a limit on travel to get the Delta outbreak under control.

He likened desired measures to a Victorian-style lockdown.

“The critical thing to do is to eradicate the virus from the community,” Dr Khorshid said while addressing the media on Friday.

Meanwhile, a number of other sites are on alert. A full list is here.
