Liam Payne Says He and Louis Tomlinson “Hated” Each Other During One Direction

Liam Payne just sat down for an interview with Logan Paul and he truly just…had so much to say! Like, name a subject and he had thoughts! On top of casually informing everyone that he “dislikes” Zayn Malik, Liam revealed that he “hated” Louis Tomlinson during their early days in One Direction.

Explaining that he wasn’t used to “rowdy guys” when he first joined the group, Liam said (via Metro UK), “Louis was wild. He wanted to be wild. He’s got this spirit.” He then noted that Louis is his “best mate now” but that “in the band we hated each other. Like, to come to blows hate each other, it was close.”

Um 😶, excuse?

Liam was later asked more about this whole “coming to blows” thing in general, and said “We came very close at points. There was one moment where there was an argument backstage and one member in particular threw me up a wall. So I said to him ‘If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again.'”

Wow. A lot to process here.

Anyway, Liam also spoke about Zayn and had some things to say. Specifically, this:

“There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there’s many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side. If I had had to go through what he went through—with his growth and whatever else… My parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times. Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense.”
