Letters Feb. 23: Puljujarvi a high-effort, low-result player

Bison King #BisonKing

While the Oilers ground out a hard-fought victory against Philadelphia on Tuesday, it’s become increasingly clear that Jesse Puljujarvi needs to be put out to pasture. Although the ‘Bison King’ again showed his unlimited effort and desire, he also continues to the display hands that are as gifted as the cloven hooves his namesake is known for.

AL WILLEY

(He needs to regain the offensive finish he showed earlier in his career)

IGNORE CHINA

Trudeau says to all Canadians, it doesn’t matter that the Communist government of China helped myself and some of my Liberal MPs financially in the last two elections and spread fake news about the Conservatives. With my new bill I am going to pass, I will be telling all of you what you can watch on T.V. what’s said on social media and nothing negative or the real truth will ever be said about me again. I am your leader. Certain Canadians keep voting for him.

BARRY HARRIS

(It’s up to the other parties to produce leaders and policies that convince Canadians to vote for them.)

CBC FOR ME, THANKS

The current crisis in American society is undoubtedly due to the multitude of broadcast, cable and streaming services broadcasting half-truths and outright lies hour after hour that make it impossible for our friends to the south to agree on almost anything. Lorne Gunter would have Canada fall into the same trap. No thank you Mr. Gunter. This Canadian taxpayer will continue to gladly support the CBC to maintain a real and enviable standard for the truth.

KARLIS PORUKS

(All Canadian networks have for the most part avoided the overt partisanship we see in the U.S. cable “news” networks.)

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Enough already, Russia, in your attack against Ukraine. The whole world has sat back for a year and witnessed your selfish brutality with no concern for any citizen, child woman or man, defending or defenceless. Ukraine’s supporters send financial aid or weapons to help out while Ukraine lies in ruins. No country or leader in our free world is willing to make a stand or step up to end this madness. In the meantime Putin is winning with no concern for anyone, except himself.

DARYL COTE

(The world is just watching from the sidelines.)
