Let’s learn from Jesus – Raila’s Easter message to Kenyans

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has wished Christians a happy Easter celebration.

In a statement on Good Friday, Raila took to his Twitter account urging Kenyans to embrace the lessons that Jesus Christ taught.

This included seizing opportunities from challenges faced.

“In his short but impactful mission, Jesus Christ saw an opportunity in every challenge he faced and that became the key to his success,” he said.

He expressed hope that Kenyans can continue following what Jesus preached, which he said is summarized as courage in the middle of terror, hope in the middle of hopelessness, humility in spite of power, grace, mercy, love and peace.

The ODM leader noted that the events Christians have celebrated during the Holy week leading to Easter weekend are a reminder of who Jesus Christ resembled.

Raila described Him as “the inspiring, courageous and peace-loving leader humanity has been blessed to have”.

“I wish a happy Easter to all,” he said.

Christians around the world have been celebrating Jesus’s life; crucifixion, death and resurrection for the past 1,600 years.

Today, Good Friday, marks the day Jesus was condemned by Pilate, crucified alongside two criminals and buried in a tomb.
