Leeds United have, on Sunday afternoon, provided an update on the wellbeing of defender Stuart Dallas.

For those not aware, Northern Irish international Dallas was forced into a premature departure from Leeds’ Premier League meeting with Manchester City yesterday evening.

On the back of a heavy challenge involving Jack Grealish, concern quickly spread across Elland Road, as the hosts’ key full-back was left grounded in evident distress.

Dallas’ right leg, in turn, was wrapped in a brace, before he was stretchered from the field of play to rapturous applause from the Leeds faithful.

All of a Whites persuasion had therefore since faced an anxious wait for an update on the wellbeing of their defensive star, amid fears over a potentially lengthy spell on the sidelines.

And, unfortunately for Leeds, ahead of a crucial run-in to the campaign, precisely that has been confirmed on Sunday afternoon.

As per an announcement across the club’s social media platforms, medical tests have revealed that Dallas has suffered ‘a femoral fracture’.

The 31-year-old, as a result, is set to go under the knife in London over the days ahead, before sitting out the remainder of the season in a bid to recuperate.

Dallas’ injury, of course, marked just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the woes suffered by Leeds on Saturday evening.

This came with the survival hopes of Jesse Marsch’s outfit having also been dealt a blow, en route to an eventual 4-0 drubbing at the hands of a rampant Manchester City.

Goals on the part of all of Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho mean that the Peacocks have slipped below Burnley into 17th in the Premier League table, just five points clear of Everton, who are currently locked in action with Chelsea.
