For the last several years, many have been waiting for LeBron James to start declining and show signs of wear and tear. But even in his 21st season, it hasn’t happened yet.

In 10 games so far this season, he’s averaging 24.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists a game. Even better, he’s shooting 56.7% from the field and 36.5% from 3-point range, and the latter stat seems to be an indication of how lively and energetic he is.

After his Los Angeles Lakers blew out the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, James was asked if he feels 38 years of age on the basketball court. He said he doesn’t, and he even made a bold statement about his abilities today compared to about a decade ago.

“I feel like it’s not anything that I can not do, that I did in my twenties out on the basketball floor.” LeBron James on if he feels 38 years old. pic.twitter.com/UaZQ4o5Gkt

When a reporter asked a follow-up question about how James stays mentally sharp after all these years, he credited his family for giving him inspiration while also talking about how getting lots of sleep has helped keep him both mentally and physically fit and sharp.

On Tuesday, he shot 6-of-11 and scored 16 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists. He barely had to assert himself, and he therefore played only 23 minutes, which can only help him out in the long run.
