Leavenworth Bomb Threat Leaves Hospital in Lockdown, Evacuations Underway

A hospital is in lockdown and evacuations are underway due to a reported bomb threat in Leavenworth, Washington, on Tuesday night.

Cascade Medical said “staff are sheltering in place” and one building on Front Street has been evacuated after a bomb threat was called into a 911 dispatcher.

Its emergency department is still partly in operation, it added.

The City of Leavenworth said it was contacted by the sheriff’s office “about a bomb threat in a garbage can” on the 800 block of Front Street.

bringing in a bomb squad “to access the validity” of the threat.

The bomb threat was first reported around 9 p.m. by Chelan County Emergency Management.

CCEM is asking people to avoid the area and for those near the site to follow instructions. The agency said it will provide further updates on Facebook.
