Anthony Walker Jr. is returning to the Cleveland Browns on a one-year deal.
It made too much sense and now it is happening. Cleveland Browns are resigning Anthony Walker Jr. to a one-year deal, Browns Digest can confirm. This comes one day after Walker visited the Washington Commanders and it reportedly went well.
Walker spent the last two seasons with the Browns despite only playing in the first three games in 2021. During that time last season, Walker looked the best he has. He was well on his way to a really good season just a few games in but then a significant injury derailed things.
In the prior season with the Browns, Walker made 105 tackles in 15 games. On the defense, Walker has been known for wearing the green dot and giving the signals out on the field. As a leader, don’t expect that to change even under new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
With the injury happening so early in the season last year, Walker is expected to be plenty recovered by training camp. This signing was always going to happen it felt like and now it has.
Cleveland can now check off their middle linebacker role but there is still work to do at the position that was depleted by injuries last year.
