Lane Kiffin points to viral Derrick Henry video: ‘His O-line loves him just like they did at Alabama’

Lane Kiffin appeared to be as impressed with Derrick Henry’s viral video than anybody.

The only difference is that it doesn’t surprise the Ole Miss coach.

Henry, at what appears to the running back’s final press conference as a Tennessee Titan, went viral for thanking – by name – members of the equipment, kitchen and cleaning staffs for all they did for him in his time with the franchise.

“This is so awesome!” Kiffin posted on ”X,” the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “I see he hasn’t changed a bit with success. No wonder his O-line loves him just like they did at Alabama and wants to block for him.”

Kiffin’s time as offensive coordinator at Alabama overlapped with Henry’s stint in Tuscaloosa.

Over the weekend, by rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in the Titans’ 28-20 victory, Henry overtook Shaun Alexander to become the player from an Alabama high school or college with the most NFL rushing yards.

On Sunday, Henry added to his lengthy resume:

  • His TD run gave him 12 for the fifth season in his career, making Henry the sixth player to do that joining LaDainian Tomlinson, Emmitt Smith, Adrian Peterson, Shaun Alexander and Jim Brown.
  • That TD also was the 90th of Henry’s career, tying him with Pro Football Hall of Famers Eric Dickerson and Curtis Martin and moving him into 13th on the NFL’s career list. Henry became the franchise leader with his 41st 100-yard rushing game, passing Earl Campbell (40).
  • It was his press conference where he thanked the support staff that turned heads, including Kiffin’s.
