Lakers vs. Pelicans score: Live updates from NBA In-Season Tournament as LeBron James, L.A. eye spot in final

The Los Angeles Lakers are facing the New Orleans Pelicans Thursday night in Las Vegas with a spot in the NBA In-Season Tournament championship game against the Indiana Pacers on the line. After 36 minutes of action in Vegas, it is the Lakers who have opened up a sizable lead over Zion Williamson and the Pelicans as they look primed to advance to the In-Season Tournament title game.

The Lakers have been unbeaten so far in the inaugural tournament and find themselves two wins away from the NBA Cup. The Pelicans beat the Sacramento Kings on the road in the quarterfinals on Tuesday and will try to upset the Lakers — a 2.5-point favorite — on Thursday night.

James scored a team-high 31 points and had 11 assists in the Lakers’ quarterfinal win over the Suns earlier in the week.
