Plus, a conclusive update on LeBron James’s status.

Your Los Angeles Lakers will be missing their best player, LeBron James, in a game that they’re actually favored to win!

The 3-10 Lakers will square off against the visiting Detroit Pistons tonight at Crypto.com Arena. Despite both teams’ best efforts, someone does actually have to win this contest.

Both clubs will be missing their best players tonight, unfortunately.

Pistons point guard Cade Cunningham, the No. 1 draft pick in 2021, will be unavailable with a sore left shin.Starting center Isaiah Stewart is also going to miss the contest due to a sprained right great toe.

Two-way player Buddy Boeheim is working from Detroit working with the Pistons’ NBA G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. Reserve guard Cory Joseph is dealing with a sore left hip, but is merely questionable for tonight, meaning he could suit up.

On the Lakers side, All-Star forward LeBron James will miss his third consecutive game as he continues to rehabilitate from the left adductor he suffered last in the Lakers’ Clippers loss on Thursday. Anthony Davis, on the other hand, will officially suit up.

Rookie shooting guard Max Christie remains in the team’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.  Scotty Pippen Jr. and Cole Swider are currently with the Lakers’ NBA G League affiliate club, the South Bay Lakers.

As we mentioned earlier, deep bench reserve forward Juan Toscano-Anderson was a late scratch tonight with a sore back. He wasn’t exactly lighting the team on fire, but with James still sidelined L.A. could have used his length an energy.

The most exciting part of the latest injury report is which Lakers aren’t on it: point guard Dennis Schröder and center Thomas Bryant, who will be healthy and available to make their season debuts tonight, having at last recovered from their UCL surgeries last month.

The action tips off right now over at Spectrum SportsNet.
