Kyrie Irving made his presence felt in his first game back in Brooklyn, dropping a game-high 36 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 119-107 win over the Nets.

Irving, who landed in Dallas one year ago to the day after the Nets honored his trade request and dealt him in a blockbuster, shot 15-of-24 and made 6-of-10 three-pointers.

He also scored 21 points in the first half and later added the highlight of the game with this alley-op slam in the second half.

Irving hit the biggest buckets in this game as well, knocking down three-pointers on back-to-back possessions to turn a tenuous 107-101 advantage into a more comfortable 113-101 lead with 4:24 remaining.

Luka Dončić enjoyed another sensational outing, posting 35 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists. For the Nets, Mikal Bridges led the way with 28 points.

In the end, though, this game was about Irving, who put on a dazzling display in Brooklyn en route to the win.

Irving and the Mavs moved to 28-23 with the win, good enough for eighth in the Western Conference. Dallas will now stay in town to visit the New York Knicks on Thursday evening.
