Kyler Murray, Chase Edmonds injured in loss to 49ers

The Arizona Cardinals lost to the San Francisco 49ers 20-12 on Saturday, putting their playoff chances in jeopardy. They also might have lost two key offensive players.

Quarterback Kyler Murray and running back Chase Edmonds sustained injuries in the loss.

Edmonds exited the game in the first half with a hip injury. Initially announced as questionable to return, he was later downgraded to out and was seen changed out of his pads. He caught two passes for eight yards.

Murray was injured on the Cardinals’ final offensive play. On a fourth-down incomplete pass, Murray was hit and stayed on the ground and appeared to be in some pain. He walked off the field but after the game, after being announced as a postgame interview, he did not address reporters.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced Murray had suffered a leg injury and was being evaluated.

He did not know about the details or severity of either Murray’s or Edmonds’ injuries and said he would know more after his press conference.

The Cardinals fell to 8-7 and have one final game left against the Los Angeles Rams.

Update:

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says that the injury appears minor but was getting checked out. It would seem he will be fine for the Cardinals’ season finale against the Rams.
