Klay Thompson’s 42 points and 12 3-pointers propelled the Warriors to a 116-101 victory over the Houston Rockets at Chase Center on Friday. Thompson is the only player in NBA history to record multiple games with 12 or more 3-pointers in a season. He also has the most games in NBA History with 12 or more threes (3), surpassing fellow splash brother Stephen Curry who has done it twice in his career. No other player has more than one. Thompson also eclipsed 40 points for the fourth time this season.
With Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green sidelined, Klay Thompson played his second back-to-back of the season, thriving as the number-one option for the Dubs.
The Warriors shot the lights out from distance, with 26 of their 37 field goals coming from behind the arc. They held Houston to just 39.1 percent shooting from the field and shot 48.1 percent from 3-point range. Having won six of their last seven at Chase Center, the Dubs are now 30-30 on the season (23-7 at home).
