Kilmarnock #Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock inflicted a first Scottish Premiership defeat on Celtic after coming from a goal behind to sink the sorry Hoops.
Brendan Rodgers is certainly no fan of the plastic pitches. But excuses won’t be accepted from the Irishman seven days on from his blast over his players’ lacklustre efforts away to St Johnstone in the first half. His men performed in the first half and were ahead at the break through Matt O’Riley’s close range effort.
However, they weren’t at the races during the second half, with Nat Phillips putting the ball beyond his own goalkeeper before Matty Kennedy scored the all-important winner.
It completes a perfect week for Derek McInnes after beating Aberdeen midweek and the Kilmarnock boss now has the home double over Celtic. McInnes has consistently said he wants his team to act like a top six side and a second win over the champions would be a good way of doing that.
Celtic have multiple injuries and struggled without defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, who he hopes to have back fit for the Champions League match against Feyenoord on Wednesday.
