FORT MYERS Fla. — Yusei Kikuchi struck out nine Twins in five innings of work Thursday to help the Toronto Blue Jays to a 3-0 victory in an exhibition game at Hammond Stadium.
Kikuchi and three relievers combined on the four-hit shutout.
Elliot Soto had three hits for the Twins.
Twins starter Tyler Mahle went 42⁄3 innings and gave up all three runs, seven hits and two walks. He struck out three and hit 94.6 mph on the radar gun.
The Twins play the Yankees in Tampa on Friday.
