The Big Ten might not be finished with expansion.
League Commissioner Kevin Warren said the conference will continue to look into expansion if it is for the right reasons. Warren made the comments during his address at the start of Big Ten Media Days on Tuesday.
With USC and UCLA expected to join the Big Ten in the 2024 season, the conference is expanding its footprint into the second largest TV market in the country. Since the two Los Angeles-based schools joined, there have been rumors that additional schools from the Pac-12 are looking to make the move.
Warren did not address in specific direction for future Big Ten expansion, but he seemed to imply that anything could be on the table.
Warren said he is also fully behind expansion of the College Football Playoff. Ohio State won the first CFP after the 2014, beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and Oregon in the championship game.
The Buckeyes have represented the Big Ten in the Playoff four times (2014, 2016, 2019, 2020). Michigan State (2015) and Michigan (2021) have also made the Playoff.
