Kevin Durant to miss another game against Warriors tonight

The Warriors play the Suns in Phoenix on Tuesday night, but they won’t face former Golden State star Kevin Durant.

Durant will miss the game with a sprained left ankle, which he injured last Tuesday in the in-season tournament quarterfinals loss to the Lakers. He missed Friday’s game against the Kings.

Phoenix will get a different star back on the court, though, as Bradley Beal is set to play his first game in a month as he has dealt with a back injury. The Suns’ star trio of Durant, Beal and Devin Booker has not spent any time together on the court since Beal arrived in an offseason trade that sent Chris Paul to Washington, where he was later flipped to the Warriors in exchange for a package centered around Jordan Poole.

Durant has played in 19 of the Suns’ 22 games this season, including the season opener at Golden State, his first time in front of a Bay Area crowd since leaving the Warriors in free agency following the 2019 season.

Joining Durant on the Suns’ injury list are Grayson Allen (groin strain) and Nassir Little (concussion protocol). Damion Lee has missed the whole season so far after undergoing meniscus surgery in October.

For the Warriors, Paul and Klay Thompson are expected to be healthy enough to play. Paul missed Friday’s loss to the Thunder with an illness, and Thompson was also sick enough to miss Sunday’s practice, while Gary Payton II remains out with a strained right calf.
