Kentucky basketball is broken and even Dick Vitale has seen enough

Kentucky basketball is off to their worst start in the John Calipari era and it’s continuing to get worse against Notre Dame.
If I told you Notre Dame was dominating Kentucky on a Saturday, you’d probably think I was talking about a football game.
Unfortunately, for Kentucky basketball fans, that’s not the case.
John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats are getting taken to the woodshed against Notre Dame basketball as their awful start to the season gets worse.
Kentucky trailed Notre Dame 48-26 at halftime and it looks like the Cats are well on their way to a 1-4 start and 1-2 start at Rupp Arena. It’s probably a good thing the stadium isn’t packed with fans because it would be a hostile arena with more boo birds than you could imagine.
Things have never gotten off to such a rotten start for Calipari during his tenure with Kentucky, but even with a young roster that had very little preseason practices and time together, there is no excuse for a program with this talent and coaching to be this bad.
It’s so bad for Kentucky that even Dick Vitale is piling on the Wildcats.
When you try and identify one primary reason for the failures of Kentucky basketball so far this season, it’s the high rate of turnovers and lack of team play on offense. Entering the game with Notre Dame, Kentucky ranked No. 283 in turnovers per game and No. 277 in assist-turnover ratio.
That’s not a recipe Kentucky basketball can win with and, well, they’re not winning. In fact, this is entering a territory where we have to really consider whether this is even a team capable of making the NCAA Tournament.
