Kemar Roofe Rangers blunder as Ibrox new boy victim of spelling gaffe

Rangers striker Kemar Roofe managed to get his first goal for the club – and his top could prove to be the ultimate collector’s item.
The Englishman joined from Anderlecht earlier this month and was given his first start against Kilmarnock as he played alongside Cedric Itten in the frontline.
Alfredo Morelos was dropped from the squad and Roofe made Steven Gerrard glad with a wonderful finish in the second half.
But Roofe might not be too happy with the top he scored in, given his name was spelt wrong on the back.
The former Leeds striker came out for the second half and had ‘Roffe’ on the back of his shirt for the match.
He won’t really be complaining though, because getting the goal for his new side is all that will matter to him and he’ll see the funny side of it following the match.

It was one that commentator Clive Tyldesley and his sidekick Kevin Thomson found funny, with the former Rangers midfielder joking: “I don’t think Jimmy will be too happy with that.”
Tyldesley had a good laugh himself and even trolled Jimmy Bell by saying: “It’s five letters, you’ve got one job Jimmy. It’s not even an anagram.”
Kit mistakes are part of the game and the Ibrox side have suffered a couple of other errors in the past.
One memorable one with Rangers was when Lee Hodson wore one that didn’t even have the club badge on it.
During a fixture with Dundee in 2017, Hodson played in the red and white away top but it had no badge and the picture went viral.
