Keke Palmer Proves Neon Is the Summer Trend We Can All Get Behind
Keke #Keke
Keke Palmer is certainly having a moment right now. The always chic and always fun actor was pictured in New York City in a lime green ensemble that already has me scrolling the internet for neon jackets. Palmer’s look layers a highlighter green trench over a matching blazer and tailored trousers, paired with a white crop top tee and matching strappy heels.
The movie star and one-woman meme generator is also rocking Rapunzel-length braids and a bright pink lip. Honestly, if anyone could get me to rethink my all-black New Yorker wardrobe, it would be Palmer.
She is currently celebrating her latest role, in Jordan Peele’s latest horror masterpiece Nope, which is now in theaters. Naturally, her red-carpet look for the premiere was another stunner: an itty-bitty corset top with an ultra-low-rise skirt and elbow-length leather gloves.
In a red-carpet interview, she told Variety that she had been having a hard time keeping the details of the film to herself. “I’m not a secret girl like that. Like, I don’t really have secrets like that, because I don’t want to slip up…it really spooks me,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Just don’t ask me about this damn movie,’ because I want to work with Jordan again, and if I slip up and tell you something, then I’m gonna be the one in trouble.”
Sounds like Peele would be more than happy to work with Palmer again, though. As the director told Glamour for Palmer’s recent cover story, “You kind of assume that…years later in this industry, someone’s sparkle is going to fade. But it hasn’t at all with Keke. She’s gotten so much brighter and so much more in control of her instrument, and that’s paired with this relentless drive that matches any working actor today.”
