Keir Starmer thrown out of Bath pub over support for Covid rules

Sir Keir Starmer has been thrown out of a pub by its Labour-voting landlord angered by lockdown restrictions.

The Labour leader was confronted by Rod Humphris outside the Raven in central Bath.

Starmer, who was flanked by security guards, went inside and was pursued by Humphris, who shouted: “That man is not allowed in my pub.”

Moments before Humphris, 54, had asked Starmer whether he was aware of the average age of people who die with the coronavirus.

After the altercation Humphris, who described himself as a Labour voter for his entire life, said: “I had heard that the Labour Party were coming round and he turned up and I told him what I thought of him, basically.
