Goalkeeper Örjan Nyland will be in RB Leipzig’s starting line-up for their German Cup game against Hoffenheim on Wednesday.
“He was convincing when he played and was integrated into the group from day one,” coach Marco Rose told a news conference on Tuesday, and added he plans to make other changes in his line-up.
Leipzig signed Nyland in October after Peter Gulacsi ruptured his cruciate ligament. He’s expected to gain match experience since regular starter Janis Blaswich keeps struggling with calf issues.
Hoffenheim, meanwhile, will miss several players for the match on Wednesday.
In addition to the long-term injured Grischa Prömel, midfielders Angelo Stiller, Dennis Geiger and Robert Skov as well as defenders Pavel Kaderabek and Kevin Vogt are also out.
“We can see that the affected players are precisely the ones who haven’t been able to train regularly due to illness,” coach André Breitenreiter said on Tuesday
