‘Keep an eye’ on Bulls’ Zach LaVine amid Lillard, Harden trade rumors

Harden #Harden

The Chicago Bulls entered the offseason with plans of pushing toward improvement after getting bounced in the Play-In Tournament this past season. Rather than resetting and tearing down the roster, they decided to add pieces in an attempt to make it back to the playoffs heading into next year.

But that doesn’t mean their stars haven’t popped up in various trade rumors. While it seems unlikely that Zach LaVine gets traded, he’s still a name that has been brought up when discussing potential trade options throughout the league this summer, as trade rumors dominate this time of year when the NBA is in a dead zone.

And according to Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation, LaVine could be a name to “keep an eye on” as Damian Lillard and James Harden trade rumors persist.

“Both the James Harden and Damian Lillard trades sound like they could take a long time to get done,” Schuster wrote. “Neither front office appears ready to budge, which could hold up any other trade activity that would happen before the start of the season. Remember: Zach LaVine has been tied to this situation already as a potential piece that could help get one of the trades done, so we’ll have to keep our eye on how both talks progress.”

It doesn’t seem likely that the Bulls would look to add one of Lillard or Hardne, but if they pivot toward a rebuild, dumping LaVine’s contract in a three-team deal involving one of those players could be a decent option.

Again, though, that doesn’t seem like an option unless the Bulls decide to completely change course and seriously shake up the roster.
