Furious Kayo users are demanding refunds after the streaming service crashed ahead of the cut-throat AFL semifinal clash between Melbourne and Carlton.

Kayo, which charges up to $35 a month for premium and dedicated sports streaming, reportedly failed to load when AFL fans jumped on to watch the sold-out MCG clash on Friday night.

“Whoa there! You might need to wait a bit,” an error message read.

“Currently we are receiving more requests than we are comfortable with. To try your request again, come back in a short while and reload this page.”

For some users, a similar message pops up at the top of the desktop browser.

“Getting an error message when you’re trying to stream? This is under investigation as a high priority,” that message reads.

Furious AFL fans vented their frustration on social media, with some demanding refunds for the service.

“Absolutely unacceptable. REFUND NOW!,” one Facebook user wrote.

“Hey @kayosports, your paying customers are furious because apparently, your glitchy streaming service has a max capacity to use your product. I’ll be contacting @choiceaustralia and the @acccgovau if your paying customers aren’t compensated,” another wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Easily the worst streaming app in history. U have 1 job #kayo,” another said.

The topic “Kayo” was trending on X on Friday night, with 36,700 posts about the streaming service.

Some of those reported their service to be working as normal, while many were complaining they were locked out.

The semifinal is also being broadcast live and free on 7mate.
