Strictly: Kaye Adams receives her week one scores In the latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing viewers saw the 15 stars face the public for the first time in this series. Sadly, it was Loose Women star Kaye Adams and her professional partner Kai Widdrington who failed to impress as they became the first pair to leave the show and found themselves leaving after the dance-off with Matt Goss.

Last Saturday, the 15 celebrities in this year’s line-up took to the dancefloor for the first time with their Strictly Come Dancing professional partners.

Although there was no elimination in week one, the stars had to not only impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke but the public too in their second live show.

This week, the judges’ scores were added to those from last week and then combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to determine the two lowest scoring couples who would be facing the dance-off.

In the end, BBC One viewers saw Loose Women star Kaye Adams and singer Matt Goss be revealed as the bottom two stars who had to take to the dancefloor once again.

Strictly Come Dancing fans finally found out who would be dancing with whom in the new series with the launch show airing. The launch was initially postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II but the show aired on September 23.

A total of 15 famous faces took to the dance floor for the first time as they met their dance partners. See the full list of pairings HERE.

Having one final chance to impress the judges and remain in the competition, both stars had to do their routines on Saturday night.

Kaye and Kai performed the Charleston to Music! Music! Music! with Matt and Nadiya doing the Samba to Night Fever.

Once both celebrities had performed, it was then time for them to receive the judges’ verdict and sadly for the Loose Women star, it was announced that Matt would remain in the competition.

When giving her criticism, Motsi commented: “Well that was so close, both couples made mistakes. I feel like they were on the same level, but one couple was a little bit better for me, and I am saving Matt and Nadiya.”

Both Motsi, Craig and Anton had all chosen to save Matt over Kaye, but head judge Shirley confessed she would have picked Kaye and Kai to save.

When asked if she agreed with her fellow judges, she confessed: “‘I didn’t, I thought due to a little better quality, I would have saved Kaye and Kai.”

Speaking to presenter Tess Daly about her time on the show, Kaye admitted that as she made mistakes it was the right result.

She said: “I am delighted for Matt and Nadiya, the only person I am just sorry for is this wonderful man [Kai], who has just been so brilliant.”

The 59-year-old said that she’s had fun with Kai on the show and it’s been a joy taking part.

Kaye added: “I said my ambition was to learn to love to dance, and actually I have seen a whole new side to myself.

“It’s opened a little door, it’s been a wonderful experience and to spend time with such talented people who love the show so much has been a joy!”

Having nothing but kind words to say about his celebrity partner, Kai called Kaye a trooper and told people he was proud of her.

Kai commented: “For this woman to come out and give the performance that she did tonight really shows the testament to her character.

“I am proud of you, I know that your girls and your other half are proud of you, but the most important thing is that you should be proud of yourself, because you are a superstar.”

Next Saturday, viewers will see the remaining 14 couples take to the dancefloor for the highly anticipated Movie Week.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday, October 8 on BBC One at 6:30pm with the results show on Sunday, October 9 at 7:20pm on BBC One.
