Kawhi Leonard Named To All-Defensive Team

The NBA announced that LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard has been named to the All-Defensive Second Team. This marks the third consecutive season and the seventh time in Leonard’s career that he has received All-Defensive honors.
Led by Leonard, the Clippers finished eighth in defensive rating (114.9) this season and fifth in net rating (6.0).
A two-time Defensive Player of the Year, Leonard ranked fourth in the NBA in net rating (12.2) and tied for fifth in steals per game (1.6) this season while appearing in 52 games and averaging career highs in assists (5.2) and minutes played (34.1). The 6-foot-7 forward was the only player in the NBA this season to average at least 22 points and 1.6 steals. Leonard was previously named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2017, 2016, and 2015. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2020, 2019, and 2014.
The 2020-21 NBA All-Defensive Second Team consists of Kawhi Leonard (LA Clippers), Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat), Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers) and Matisse Thybulle (Philadelphia 76ers).
