Kate Middleton & Camilla ‘mirror tension’ as ‘shared affection for Charles is prime tie’

Analysing pictures of the royals together over the years, body language expert Judi James suggested there is warmth between them.

However, they may seem more comfortable when the future King Prince Charles is also in attendance.

She told Express.co.uk: “The pair do clearly speak and exchange warm smiles.

“But it is Charles who seems to ‘light up’ the dynamic when he is present, cracking jokes and looking animated while Kate wrinkles her nose in a laugh of genuine humour and rapport.

“William and Camilla enjoy the fun from a slight distance.

“In many ways it looks as though it might be their shared affection for Charles is the prime tie that binds the two women.”

She suggested Prince Charles and Kate seem to get on well.

The affection Kate clearly feels for her father-in-law could be one big thing she has in common with Camilla, Judi claimed.

Judi concluded: “Some of these photographs with Camilla show Kate not wearing her signature smile.

“Her closed lips do show signs of the kind of muscle tension that makes them look pursed.

“Camilla does often appear to be slightly anxious in public though, especially when she appears without Charles beside her.

“This facial tension could be down to mirrored or reflected tension for Kate.”

The royal line of succession – who outranks who?

The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.

It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.

Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.

Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.

The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.

Prince Charles, 72, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 38, his oldest son.

Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, five, and Louis, two, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
