Kasie Hunt Leaves MSNBC as ‘Way Too Early’ Host Says Emotional Goodbye

Kasie Hunt is leaving her role at MSNBC, the Way Too Early host announced on Friday morning.
“This is going to be my final broadcast with all of you,” Hunt said, adding that she would have more on her next move “in the next few weeks.”
The 36-year-old didn’t reveal what her next job will be, but hinted that she is leaving the network entirely.
“I just want to thank everyone at NBC News, at MSNBC, of course to Mika, for always insisting that you should know your value,” she said referencing her co-host’s motivational book “Know Your Value: Women, Money and Getting What You’re Worth.”
A spokesperson for the network confirmed to Deadline that Hunt is officially leaving MSNBC and NBC News. The journalist has worked at the station since 2014.
Taking to Twitter, Hunt thanked everyone involved in Way Too Early, tweeting: “Some personal news, as they say — thank you to all of the viewers, reporters, lawmakers and everyone else who’s gotten up extra early to help make @WayTooEarly better. I loved doing this show. More soon! #WayTooEarly.”
In another tweet she added: “I will so miss working with you and the amazing team @WayTooEarly! And after I spend a few days sleeping in, count me among your loyal viewers in the future.”
She also thanked her colleagues at Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist “for making me a part of your Morning Joe family.”
She added: “There’s no show like it and I am going to miss it oh so much. Your support has meant everything to me.”
News of Hunt’s departure spread to social media, where fans are expressing their sadness at seeing her leave.
“Oh wow… Kasie Hunt is leaving NBC News and MSNBC. Kasie said she will have more to share about her future in the next couple of weeks,” reads one tweet. “I really like Kasie so this is sad to hear.”
While another person added: “I’m still in disbelief about your news. I have followed your journalism reporting the last 5 years. You are a true professional in your field. I wish you the best in your future endeavors. You will be missed. Excited for what the future holds for you. God speed in your journey.”
Another fan tweeted: “Kasie Hunt leaving MSNBC just gutted me. #WayTooEarly is my morning staple.”
“You will be missed! I hope you have much success with whatever you do next!” added another.
